This traditional festival is celebrated in the Palma de Mallorca Cathedral sixty days after resurrection Sunday, becoming one of the most crowded of the year.
Inside the Cathedral the famous corpus party, a festival of great Catholic tradition in which the presence of the risen Christ is remembered in the bread and wine consecrated in the celebration of the mass.
After mass, the Corpus Christi procession begins, which, accompanied by music bands, begins and ends in La Seu, passing through the streets of the Palau Reial, the Mirador, the Palau de Sant Pere Nicolás, d'en Morey, Plaza Santa Eulalia, Cadena street and Cort square. As a curiosity, the flower carpets of the main portal of the Cathedral and the Cort square, which have been carried out by volunteers from workshops at cultural centers in Palma.
In addition, on the occasion of this festivity, the Palma City Council organizes in the patios the Corpus Concert Cycle with a great variety of music:
- Spanish popular music,
- An evening of Parisian music
- composers of the classical period.
