On March 1, Balearic Islands Day is commemorated with events throughout the archipelago. Depending on this great festival, various activities are organized from February 29 to March 3. The program for this great day on the island of Mallorca is an extensive and varied program with activities for all types of audiences.

On March 1 you can visit a great gastronomic fair, the Fair of Denominations of Origin, Protected Geographical Indications and Quality Products of Origin. In addition, once again you will be able to find the traditional Balearic Islands Market, which is divided into two parts:

  • Traditional crafts market, where different workshops can be held for all types of audiences. You can find it on Passeig Sagrera and Plaça Draçanes
  • Trades Market, where you can also find a great gastronomic exhibition where you can find different products from local houses. Located on Passeig Sagrera.

Live music

Both on March 1 and 2, you can find musical performances of all kinds of styles such as Tomeu Penya or La Guineu among others. These will be found in S'Hort de Rei or in Passeig del Born depending on the day the show takes place.

Sport activities

The big day of the Balearic Islands does not leave aside any type of activity and since sports are not an option, the program reflects many competitions of all types of sports, such as horse riding, chess or cycling, among others. Here are some of the competitions that take place:

  • XIII Marcha Cicloturista (Muro Beach)
  • Balearic Islands Government Grand Prize (Son Pardo)
  • Trote Balearic Islands Award (Son Pardo)

Open doors

During all the days of this important celebration, the Balearic government offers the possibility of visiting buildings such as the Balearic Parliament, the Consell de Mallorca or the Mallorca Congress Palace for free.

Children's Day of the Balearic Islands

On March 2, Ses Voltes will be the scene of the Balearic Islands Children's Day 2024, with activities from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event will include musical performances, dances, an ecological carousel.
