August 5 is a day marked in the festive calendar of Ibiza, since apart from being the day of Saint Mary of the Snows, the Festes de la Terra are also celebrated.

This day a procession takes place in which the figure of the virgin is carried from the streets of the town to the cathedral. The festivals commemorate the events of 1235 when the Christian troops expelled the Muslims from the island, from that moment Santa María became the patron saint of Ibiza.
