The Sant Martí festivities, in honor of the patron saint of Es Mercadal, are celebrated in July. The Mercadal festivals, like most of the island's festivals, date back many years. San Martín is one of the oldest festivals after San Juan.

It turns out that the municipality of Mercadal included other towns such as Ferrerías, Migjorn, Fornells. Therefore, Mercadal was the starting point. Currently we can affirm that the Mercadal festivals, after those of Ciudadela, have great tradition and importance. An example of this is that the town council takes part in all the events, as it is present at moments such as the handing over of the flag or when the “caixer” (sobreposat) requests permission to start the party.
