He Calvià Chess Festival is a chess event held in the Spanish municipality of Calvia, in Mallorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands. The first edition was held in October 2004 as part of the parallel activities to the 36th Chess Olympiad. The festival included two amateur tournaments, a circuit of 16 quick game tournaments, he Spanish Veterans Championship and under-16 tournaments. Since then, the festival has continued to grow and attract players from all over the world. This year, the XXI International Festival of Calvià will take place in October in Palmanova, a tourist enclave belonging to the municipality of Calvià.
