Vinya Son Alegre

Son Alegre vineyard is a young Mallorcan vineyard that produces organic wine. They cultivate an olive tree according to the principles of biodynamics. Since August 2015 they have been vinifying, fermenting and creating organic wines from Son Alegre in their own winery, which they share with the sister company Campo de Ventura from Calonge (Santanyí).

They have different kinds of wines, all of them organic, pink, black and white and,others, in Son Alegre vineyard They offer wine tastings and visits to their vineyard. The wine tasting event at the Son Alegre winery in Calonge begins with a glass of wine in the winery shop. Miguel, the owner, guides the group on a 20-minute walk through the nearby vineyards while they carry their glasses. Then, they head to the farm where the food and wines are prepared. Lunch includes Sileo extra virgin olive oil, “pa amb oli”, dessert, coffee and brandy, accompanied by two white wines, two rosés and two different red wines. They also produce Sileo, extra virgin olive oil, since they have more than a thousand olive trees of the European Olea species, with olives of the Arbequina variety. The Arbequina olive is considered one of the best in the world for consistency and productivity, as well as for the quality of its oil.

His olive plantation is scrutinized by the rigorous criteria of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Territory, as part of the Government of the Balearic Islands. The quality of its oil production is supervised by the Balearic Islands Agri-Food Quality Institute (IQUA) and the Regulatory Council of the Aceite de Mallorca Denomination of Origin, which allows its oil to be classified as Aceite de Mallorca Protected Denomination of Origin.
