Formentera Apart from its landscapes and beaches, it stands out for its wide variety of street and craft markets on the island. On the island there are five markets located at street level in different of its beautiful towns throughout the year, but especially during the summer season.

They are an opportunity to enjoy a pleasant walk through urban areas or promenades. In the markets there are many artistic and craft objects, and souvenirs from the islands, from jewelry, clothing, souvenirs, among many others.

San Francisco

It is the town with the largest population on the island. It is the capital of Formentera where in summer it is wonderful to walk through its streets. It is characterized by its white houses and its church in the center of the main square. It is a place where you can enjoy its craft markets and its excellent restaurants with typical dishes and good prices.

SANT FRANCESC MARKET

  • From May 1 to October 12 Every day except Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the town square of San Francisco and the main pedestrian streets of the town.

La Savina

This small port has become one of the must-sees on the island. The most special detail of this place is its small hippie-style market that opens its doors every afternoon. It is located on the seafront and details abound.

MERCADILLO DE SA SAVINA

  • From June 1 to September 15. Every day from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. on the promenade of the Port of La Savina. It is a market mainly for clothing and accessories. It is a very nice and relaxing walk in the same port.

Es Pujols

It is a town located on the north coast of the island, next to the beach. It is considered the most touristic town on the island due to its large number of restaurants, hotels, and apartments at very affordable prices.

“ES PUJOLS” MARKET

  • From May 1 to October 12. Every day from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. on the Es Pujols promenade. A beautiful walk along the beach of Es Pujols, one of the most touristic spots on the island of Formentera.

San Fernando

It is a central town that is located in the interior of the island. In the 70s it was the meeting point for hippies and bohemians. This free, creative and festive character is maintained in the craft and artistic markets that are held in the summer months every night except Wednesday and Sunday.

SANT FERRAN MARKET

  • From May 29 to September 30. In Sant Ferran two different types of markets are held on the pedestrian promenade next to the town square: The artistic market every day except Wednesdays and Sundays from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. and the artisan market every day from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

La Mola

It is the most isolated urban center of Formentera, since it is located on top of the La Mola plateau. Its charm and tranquility stand out, although in summer it becomes a point of attraction for tourists due to its craft market.

LA MOLA MARKET

  • From May 3 to October 12, Wednesdays and Sundays from 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at Pilar de La Mola. Undoubtedly one of the most authentic and visited on the island, formed exclusively by certified artisans with all the original products made by hand by themselves.
